Bespoke wheels. (fast cars)
IMAGINE a sports car the colour of a filmI star's lipstick, its hand-tooled curves tearing down the highway at over 140mph. Now imagine that it is made by Ford or Chrysler. Does the dream fade? It ought not. Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini and Lotus are now owned by mass-market carmakers from Detroit and Turin. The big firms provide production technology and finance. In return, they have the thrill of a shot of racing blood in their corporate veins-and a chance to adapt their protoge's car-making imagination to their mass-market designs.
