TOWN OF CRAWFORD — A 13-year-old boy from New Jersey died and two others were flown to an area hospital early Saturday morning after a car struck a tree on Hill Avenue, town police said.
About 12:10 a.m., a 1999 BMW driven by Frank King, 41, of Pine Bush, veered off the road and struck a tree. King and his 14-year-old son were flown to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla with unspecified injuries.
The 13-year-old, who was the front-seat passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police would not release the name of the boy, who is from Brick Township, N.J., nor would they disclose his relationship to King and his son.
It’s unclear what caused King to leave the road, but police said their investigation is ongoing.
The Pine Bush Fire Department and Pine Bush Volunteer Ambulance Squad assisted police at the scene.
